Public TV lets viewers choose their language

Public television began a new system Wednesday by which stations will be able to make a show available in more than one language. "Moliere," a TV biography of the great French dramatist that premiered Wednesday on many public-television stations, is being transmitted in both french and English nationwide by the Public Broadcasting Service via Western Union's Westar I domestic communications satellite.

Cooperating FM radio stations in some areas will simulcast the original dialogue.

PBS system to direct foreign-language braodcasts to ethnic groups in various parts of the country.
