Spain's left is restive over Premier's US visit

Spanish Prime Minister Adolfo Suarez Gonzalez was to fly to the United States Monday for an unexpected one-day visit that is attracting mounting domestic criticism. Mr. Suarez and Foreign Minister Marcelino Oreja Aguirre are expected to have talks with President Carter and Secretary of State Cyrus Vance on Western defense and Spain's possible future inclusion in NATO, a move the country's left-wing opposition parties are strongly against. They fear President Carter may use current world tension to press for increased US base facilities and Spain's eventual membership in NATO.
