Moscow gets the games, Olympic panel affirms

The International Olympic Committee has drafted a resolution affirming that the Olympic Games will go ahead in Moscow as planned no matter how few countries attend the games, well- placed committee sources reported.

In a related development, the sources said they understood that the Carter administration was about to soften its stand on its Feb. 20 boycott deadline and allow the Soviet Union until May 24 -- the closing day for team entries for the Moscow games -- to withdraw troops from Afghanistan before calling for a boycott.
