Business leaders organize support for ERA passage

The business community announced Tuesday its first organized suport for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment Tuesday, Ron Scherer, business and financial correspondent of the Monitor, reports. Some 50 corporate executives, led by William M. Agee, chairman of the Bendix Corporation, and Coy G. Eklund, president of the Equitable Life Assurance Company, announced the formation of the National Business Council for the ERA.

Three more states must ratify the amendment before it becomes part of the Constitution. The executives will coordinate their efforts with the national League of Women Voters to meet the June 1982 deadline.
