Trudeau favored in Canadian elections

Canadians voted for a new Parliament and government Monday in their second general election in nine months. Advance opinion polls pointed to probable victory for the Liberal Party under Pierre Trudeau, who was prime minister for 11 years until his defeat last May by the Progressive Conservative Party led by Joe Clark.
