Sailing At Night

Look how the bow cuts left from right defining this from that side, up from down when the wind is at our back at night. Windward, a swell of wavering light shows where we've been and where we're bound as if the prow cut left from right. Waters flow apart like wide, white paths back to the seven seas to the sound of the wind at our backs at night. Cutting history from what's in sight, dividing living from the drowned, the prow cuts left from right. Then the back-wash joins the night sky as if we've never come inbound with the wind at our back tonight. Watch the cleaved sides (two parts water add to one) unite. Look how the prow cuts left from right and the wind puts it all back at night.
