No time for planning

Not enough time for feet-on-the-desk planning, say over 400 British managing directors, according to a recent survey. Almost 70 percent said they spend too little time planning future strategy, largely because of interruptions -- said to occur at a frequency of about 20 minutes all day.

Over half of those polled said better delegation of responsibilities would ease this condition.
