Over fields of honey

Over fields of honey the mockingbird sings at dawn and the robin calls evening; the scent of thyme marks your steps and the bees know the tune of your humming. Apple blossoms hide the thrush and honeysuckle climbs to the secret nest of the oriole. Butterflies dance their colors from blossom to blossom until the goldenrod has faded and the silver ageratum becomes tarnished. Then the goldfinch feasts on thistleseeds sowing the honey of the future, On the crest of a hill they lie your fields of honey where bees gather the year's sweetness for winter.
