US Embassy bombed in El Salvador

The US Embassy in San Salvador was bombed and machine-gunned by unidentified men late Monday, but no injuries resulted, a spokesman for the US Embassy said. US Ambassador Robert E. White, besieged for two days at his residence by right-wing protesters until US marines got him out Monday morning, was in the embassy at the time of the attack.
