Soviet, Hungarian to call on space-station 'hermits'

A Soviet and a Hungarian orbited Earth Tuesday aboard a Soyuz space capsule and readied it to dock with the Salyut 6 space station for a week-long visit. Mission commander Valery Kubasov and the engineer, Capt. Bertalan Farkas, were launched Monday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in central Asia aboard the Soyuz 36 . The craft was due to link up with the space station Tuesday night, ending six weeks of isolation for its inhabitants, Leonid Popov and Valery Ryumin.

Captain Farkas, a fighter pilot in the Hungarian Army, is the fifth East European to take part in a Soviet space flight under the "Interkosmos" program.
