Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's Congress (I) Party established an early lead Sunday in Assembly elections, which have so far cost 54 lives during political violence. The two-stage election in 9 of the 22 states in India ended Saturday with unrest in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Final results were expected today (June 2).
