Argentine President Jorge Videla left over the weekend for the first visit of a South American president to China. Diplomatic sources said the four-day visit is also aimed at countering criticism of Argentina's close economic ties with the Soviet Union. The Soviets have been the biggest customer for Argentine grain exports since the Buenos Aires military government refused to participate last January in the US-sponsored grain embargo against the Russians.
