S. Korean regime frees 200 Kwangju rioters

South Korea's military-dominated government Wednesday released more than 200 rioters arrested during the eight-day uprising in kwangju. Meanwhile, the government added 108 people, most of them military officers, to the new National Security Standing Committee, which is charged with running the country on a daily basis. A civilian government lead by President Choi Kyu-ha still operates, but the standing committee or generals and civilian leaders has taken over the major government functions.
