Q. What will remove the water stains on cedar paneling? Neither sanding nor chlorine bleach is effective. I would rather not use a dark stain on the panels. John Shepherd Tenino, Wash.
A. A commercial wood bleach will lighten the discolored cedar panels. The bleach comes in a two-part kit and is available from most local paint stores. As with any job, be sure to follow the directions on the label.
