TRACK; Oslo's super track

Sebastian Coe and Steve Ovett, Britain's pair of record-setting middle distance runners, may be making headlines these days, but it's about time Oslo's Bislet Stadium joined them in taking the bows. According to the New York Times, the stadium has been the site of 33 world records since it opened in 1922, including the four standards established held by Ovett and Coe during the past year.

What's the secret to Bislet's success? Maybe the invigorating air or the proximity of the fans, who jam the 22,000 seats and cheer lustily from only yards away.
