These rolling hills lie down at night And pull up quilts of shadowed light. Wind-pillowed, snug on beds of ground, In rural dark, their sleep is sound. Till dawn lifts covers, gently shakes Each hummock shoulder, and awakes Them; stretching then against the sky, They make the rising sun squeeze by.
