Times of London staff to strike for 21% raise

Journalists on Britain's oldest daily newspaper, The Times, decided WEdnesday to strike, beginning Friday, for a 21 percent pay raise. The decision, subject to backing from the National Union of Journalist, followed management insistence that its original 18 percent offer must stand because of the paper's current losses. The Times and its sister publications reappeared only last November after an 11-month closure.
