Bolivian ousted in coup leaves country for Europe

Former Bolivian President Lidia Gueiler, who was ousted in a military coup last July and took refuge in a Vatican mission in La Paz before being allowed to leave the country, arrived here and appealed for democratic rights to be respected in her country. Mrs. Gueiler had been scheduled to leave Bolivia two months ago, but the government canceled the agreement, claiming she had violated the right to diplomatic asylum by granting an interview to a Chilean publication. now staying with her daughter, she says she will return home when the political situation permits.
