Afghan functions reported riddled with anti-Soviets

Anti-Soviet resistance workers have infiltrated the government, Army, and police in Afghanistan at all levels, a source with high contacts in President Babrak Karmal's regime said. He said police and Army officers also warn Muslim insurgents in Kabul of planned raids, which is why there is such a low casualty rate among urban guerillas. Security in the capital and the political position of Mr. Karmal and his Parcham faction of the Marxist People's Democratic Party have deteriorated rapidly in the last month.
