Rep. John W. Jenrette Jr. (D) of South Carolina said he will not resign from the current Congress and plans to fight efforts in the House ethics panel to expel him for his role in the Abscam bribery scandal. Mr. Jenrette was convicted Oct. 7 of taking a $50,000 bribe from FBI undercover agents seeking congressional favors as representatives of rich Arabs.
