House OKs $258 million for hemisphere refugees

The House has approved $258 million for use by the Department of Health and Human Services to aid Cuban and Haitian refugees. It also provided $21 million for educational aid to refugees, mostly in Dade County, Fla. The Provision was sent to the Senate for final action as part of a stopgap appropriations bill for several government agencies for the new fiscal year. It compares with a $100 million appropriation in 1980.
