Palestine autonomy talks to resume, Egyptian says

Egypt, Israel, and the United States will resume their Palestinian autonomy negotiations next month, Butrus Ghali, state minister for foreign affairs, said. Mr. Ghali made the statement on his return from a three-day visit to Israel, where he attended the Israeli Labor Party convention. Mr. Ghali said he and Israeli Interior Minister Josef Burg, who heads his country's delegation to the autonomy talks, agreed "in principle to resume the talks in January in Tel Aviv at the technical-experts level." The talks have been deadlocked over the establishment of new Israeli settlements in occupied areas and Israel's decision to name Jerusalem its capital.
