A winter storm whipped snow across portions of Texas and New Mexico, and Florida growers used wind and water in a battle to save already damaged crops from the second onslaught of freezing temperatures in a week. But warmer temperatures eased the heating-fuel shortage in Massachusetts, ending an emergency holiday for public school children, who returned t o their classes after a Friday recess.
