Reagan administration to 'study' hostage deal

The Reagan administration will study carefully the agreement under which Iran released the US hostages before committing itself to carry out its terms, the State Department said. Acting State Department spokesman William Dyess said he did not intend to suggest that the new administration would repudiate the US-Iranian accord negotiated by President Carter's envoy, but added, "The Reagan administration would not want to commit itself to following through without having had a chance to go over the agreements and find out just what it is committing itself on."
