Look for the number of students from Arab oil countries attending US colleges and universities to drop in the next few years. These oil-producing countries, especially Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, are building their own dazzlingly modern schools at a busy pace.

OPEC countries alone account for one- third of the nearly 300,000 foreign students studying here. Students from non-Arab oil countries, such as Venezuela and Nigeria, may continue to come in large numbers, however. Nigeria and Iran, in fact, top the list as sources for foreign students on US campuses.

One educator predicts that the prime sources of such students in the years ahead will b e Japan, Hong Kong Taiwan, and Mexico.m
