Argentina devalues peso to bolster its exports

Argentina has devalued the peso by just under 23 percent, aiming to make its exports cheaper and more competitive and to protect domestic industry. The move is the first major economic action by the new government of retired Gen. roberto Viola. He took over an economy which some fear is slipping into industrial decline.
