Arab-Israeli accord is key to stability, Thatcher told

British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was told that settlement of the Arab-Israeli dispute was the best way to ease tensions in the Middle East and thus reduce the risk of Soviet expansion in the area. Mrs. Thatcher, in Saudi Arabia to hear Saudi views on the Middle East and to boost Britain's political and trade ties, held a first round of talks with Crown Prince Fahd after meeting with King Khalid.
