Big Soviet wheat sales in the offing for Canada

Canada is about to conclude an agreement to sell the Soviet Union up to 5 million metric tons of grain a year over five years, trade sources said. The sources added that the deal calls for Canada to sell Moscow a minimum of 3 million tons of wheat a year and up to 2 million tons a year in barley and oats over the five-year period.

Officials at the Canadian Wheat Board had no comment. But government sources here said they understood a deal with the Soviets was being nego tiated.
