Half past blue

Yet come into these woods with me To watch how Time and Spectrum tell The season's hour by bloom and tree, The moment in the gravid cell. See moccasin and aster sink To frailer and diminished hue, While wild-rose marks the hour at Pink, And iris points to half past Blue. Half past Blue! The hour has rung The noon of May by iris clocks That on this double tension strung Draw solstice on through equinox. Mark how this lucent nervure shows Where threads of gold on blue contrast, How fares that tidal stream which flows Within the equal protoplast. Might we in this hiatus stay, Where Time and Spectrum merge anew; Might clocks forever point to May, And Iris stop at half past B lue!
