US, USSR, schedule talks on additional grain sales

About these ads

The United States and the Soviet Union will hold talks on additional grain sales to the Soviet Union next month, US agriculture Secretary John Block said. The announcement made during a 10-day visit to Europe by Mr. Block, comes just over a month after President Reagan lifted the US embargo on grain sales to the Soviet Union, introduced after Soviet intervention of Afghanistan.

During the talks June 8 and 9, the two sides will review world, US and Soviet grain crops and discuss extra sales of grain to the Soviet Union under a current five-year grain agreement that expires in September.
