Solidarity to seek delay on any strike till July 3

The polish news agency PAP said Solidarity signed an agreement with a parliamentary commission in which it undertook to appeal for a strike suspension until July 3. The Solidarity negotiating team, seeking punishment of officials responsible for the beating of three unionists in march, said it was confident the regions that had threatened strikes would hold off because of an appeal from Polish bishops who are meeting in Rome.
