Over 9,700 immigrants will become American citizens in a mass Olympic stadium oath-taking in Los Angeles described as the largest such ceremony in US history. Immigrants from 73 nations have been invited. Over 1,600 are from the Philippines; 1,400 from Korea; and 1,200 from Mexico. Some 500 are refugees from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.
