Italian auto official freed by Red Brigades guerrillas

Renzo Sandrucci, an Alfa Romeo automobile executive, was freed by his Red Brigades urban guerrilla kidnappers after 49 days in captivity, police said. Mr. Sandrucci was found blindfolded but safe in a car here. One of the Brigades demands for his release was met -- 500 workers will be brought back from layoff Sept. 1, a month ahead of schedule, although Alfa denies that his fate was a factor in the deal reached with unions.

The Red Brigades, who still hold a Christian Democrat politician and the brother of a repentant guerrilla, kidnapped and murdered former Prime Minister Aldo Moro in 1 978.
