Army using great caution in transferring nerve gas

The US Army is taking elaborate safety precautions in its final plans for the largest transfer of toxic chemical munitions in more than a decade. About 150 tons of GB nerve gas -- a tiny drop of which is deadly - will be moved by the end of the summer from the Rocky Mountain Arsenal near here to the remote Toole Army Depot in the northwest corner of Utah. Colorado's congressional delegation had pressured the Pentagon to detoxify the bombs containing the gas, but preferring to maintain its stocks, the Army decided to relocate the gas.
