Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

The first World Food Day -- to be observed in 125 countries today (OCt. 16) -- is the anniversary of the founding of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. Observances are aimed at alerting the public as to how widespread hunger is and how serious the prospects are of supplying food to meet the need.
