Saudis clarify position on Israeli recognition

Saudi Arabia has ruled out recognition of Israel except with the agreement of all Arab states and the Palestinians.

There has been confusion about Saudi Arabia's position on the Palestinians, since the Saudi foreign minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, was quoted as saying that if Israel returned occupied Arab lands and recognized Palestinian rights, the kingdom would be prepared to ''accept it.''
