Production subsidy denied on 4 defense materials

The White House will not grant government subsidies for production of four materials critical to the defense industry, Budget Director David Stockman said.

The Reagan administration decided against proposals by several members of Congress and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to subsidize production of cobalt, titanium, bauxite, and guayule.
