US nuclear submarine hits Turkish ship off Virginia

An American nuclear submarine collided with a Turkish freighter 25 miles off Cape Charles, Va., but there was no radioactive leakage and damage to the USS Jacksonville was ''cosmetic,'' the Navy announced. The submarine was embarking on a training mission when the collision occurred, the Navy said. It would not confirm or deny that there were nuclear warheads aboard.
