13 fewer lawmen killed in US last year, FBI says

Ninety-one US law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty last year, 13 fewer than the previous year and lower than any other year in the past decade, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced. Firearms were used in 95 percent of the officers' slayings, the agency said.
