Pierre Franey to cook at Radcliffe benefit

Tickets are still available for the cooking demonstration Wednesday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m. by Pierre Franey, French chef, food columnist for the New York Times, and cookbook author.

The demonstration is sponsored by the Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America and the Women's Culinary Guild. All proceeds will benefit the Schlesinger Library, Radcliffe College's research library on the history of women.

Its holdings include an excellent collection of British, French, and American cookbooks dating from the 17th century.

It also includes the professional papers of M.F.K. Fisher and Julia Child and donated volumes from the library of Samuel and Narcissa Chamberlain.

Tickets for the cooking demonstration, which will be at Harvard University Science Center, 1 Oxford Street, Cambridge, are $30 per person. $25 is tax deductible.

There will be a buffet prepared by members of the Women's Culinary Guild in honor of Pierre Franey at the Cronkite Graduate Center, Radcliffe College, corner of Ash and Brattle Streets, Cambridge, Tuesday, May 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person. $10 is tax deductible.

Sponsor tickets will include a ticket to both the buffet and the cooking demonstration at $50 per person. $35 is tax deductible. Parking is available.
