Britain plans broadcasts to Argentines on islands

Britain's Defense Ministry said it is beginning Spanish-language broadcasts twice a day to Argentine troops on the Falkland Islands in an attempt to counter what it called ''wildly inaccurate Argentine reports.''

The broadcasts, from a transmitter on the British mid-Atlantic Ascension Island normally used by the British Broadcasting Corporation, were scheduled to begin Wednesday night and will not include propaganda, the ministry said.
