Three US Navy ships were fired on in the South China Sea Sunday nightby small boats believed to be Vietnamese, Navy officials said. The officials said there were no injuries and only minor damage to one of the ships from machine gun fire.
The incident occurred in international waters about 70 miles off the southern tip of Vietnam.
