Reagan is said to favor new extra-spending bill

President Reagan reportedly favors a $5.3 billion spending bill passed by the Senate Tuesday, the fourth version of legislation needed to prevent layoffs in several federal agencies.

The House may be called back early from recess to vote on the supplemental money bill, which includes a repeal on a tax deduction for congressmen and funds for social security, food stamps, student loans, and low-income rental housing. Mr. Reagan last week vetoed versions of the bill, needed to carry several programs through the end of the fiscal year.
