Polaroid introduces an SLR

Polaroid Corporation yesterday announced a new product - a folding, automatic focusing, single-lens-reflex camera. An SLR camera allows the viewer to see what the lens sees.

The camera has a built-in electronic flash that automatically aims its light for evenly lit instant color pictures.

The SLR 680 Auto Focus/Auto Strobe camera uses the same 600 ASA color film as Polaroid's Sun and Amigo cameras.

All power for the electronic flash and automatic focusing is derived from a thin battery in each 10-exposure 600 film pack. Polaroid says this will eliminate need for regular battery replacement.

The suggested list price of the SLR 680 is $265.
