Danish Cabinet resigning over economic defeat

Denmark's Prime Minister Anker Jorgensen announced Thursday his government will resign because of rejection of its plan for revamping the economy.

The collapse of the eight-month-old Social Democratic government followed two days of intense negotiations that failed to secure majority support in parliament for Mr. Jorgensen's economic package.
