Nixon in Peking to mark his first visit

Former President Richard Nixon arrived in China Monday for his fourth visit and hailed the recent US-China joint communique gradually reducing American arms sales to Taiwan as a ''major accomplishment and a diplomatic achievement.''

Nixon is reportedly to meet Chinese officials and commemorate the 10 thanniversary of his first trip to China, which ended with the Shanghai Communique.
