Removing faded 'flowers' without harming tub and using extra care with a fiber-glass shower

Q. How can we clean our fiber-glass-enclosed shower? Can we safely use a TSP and Clorox mixture? Is something else better? Gayle Peters Riverside, Calif.

A. We understand that a TSP and Clorox mixture will not harm the fiber glass walls or doors. Try a liquid spray cleanser. It is easier to use, although it will not have the bleaching action of Clorox. Solvent liquid cleansers do a better job on soap scum. Use a good plastic ''Chore-Girl.''

Caution: According to Jere H. Lien, president of Lien Services of Escondido, Calif., you should avoid powder cleansers. They are abrasive on fiber glass.
