The senator objects

Senator Metzenbaum of Ohio speaks for a public offended by having its leaders' words appear among the leering pages of sexploitation magazines. When an interview with him turned up in such a magazine, the senator objected - unlike those eminences who have willingly lent themselves to the exploitation process.

Mr. Metzenbaum had granted the interview for use in a respectable publication , which decided not to run it, and the free-lance author passed it on. That may be the risk a politician takes when he talks for the record. But it's good to hear of one concerned about the company his comments keep.
