Acid in eye drops found in Colorado

Hydrochloric acid discovered in two bottles of Visine eye drops in western Colorado was probably planted by an imitator hoping to intensify the national concern surrounding over-the-counter drugs, a poison expert says.

The hydrochloric acid was detected in two bottles of Visine taken from the shelves of a Target discount store in Grand Junction. The manufacturer has determined the contamination is confined to the city and will not recall the eye drops from shelves nationwide.recall the eye drops from shelves nationwide.
