Stones hum

When children pick them up. Flowers burst with their sweetest fragrance, grateful to surrender to the touch of children. For the benefit of children, mountains sing and trees swish their leaves deliriously. Grass bends down willingly under their feet, hoping to comfort them in rest. Upon hearing children's laughter, brooks are able to shine in the sun and glisten more brightly. Listen- ing, suddenly the waters intuitively know, and are joyous: the music is beginning! Small hands Lovingly stroke green mosses, and the quietest, Most satisfied sounds in the universe are heard and shared among them all. The sound of pine needles mingled with the sound of feathers, stars, and rain . . . a rain so healing, so unutterably kind, it rolls like tears of joy down petals all over the earth. . . showers of blessing. . .
